Dick Wise's 1952 Ford
1952 Ford two-door restyled by Rodgers Body Shop in Gridley for Dick Wise of Nicolaus, California. Most of the custom ideas were Dick's, and they took over 2 and a half years to complete. The car was nosed, decked and shaved for door handles. The front end was restyled by frenching a set of 1954 Buick headlights to the fenders, and the grille opening was fit with a custom floating-type grill, made by using 1955 Buick bullet guards welded to a 1955 Pontiac front bumper. The bumper bolts were welded to the back. The exhaust was routed through the 1955 Pontiac rear bumper bar. The rear fenders were fit with 1956 Oldsmobile taillights with custom spears that Dick designed. The two-tone paint job consisting of ruby metallic and white was separated with side trim from a 1955 Pontiac. 1953 Mercury strips were added on the rear fender airscoops. The car was lowered by reworking the springs, C-ing the frame, raising the floorboards and tunneling the driveshaft. custom designed and made sharp bullet-shaped spinners were added to the hubcaps, making it dangerous to walk to close the car.[1]
