Dennis Ercek was a bodyman at Joe Andersen's Custom Shop in the late 1950s and the early 1960s. Larry Sturchio was a good friend of Dennis from 1959, and they were both members of the Hot Heads of Inglewood car club together with Randy and George Elliott. In 1959 they joined the Eliminators 90+ car club. Dennis painted Larry's 1955 Chevrolet, "then in the mid 60s a couple of my motorcycles, both show bikes which I rode weekends." According to Larry, Dennis was one of the best. "He worked doing body and paint for Carroll Shelby for quite some time at Marina del Rey in the early 60s, then to LAX in the mid 60s." Dennis got pretty sick in the late 1990s, and he had both legs amputated. In 2006 he passed away.[1]
