1960 Chevrolet El Camino owned by Debbie Cruz of Corpus Christi, Texas. Known as the Cherry Dream, the car was originally built in the mid 1960s. In 1965 an early version of the car was featured in Rod & Custom July 1965. The story was titled "...Carried Away."[1]

ISCA Show Car Circuit

Sometime after 1965 the car was restyled further, and in the late 1960s it toured the US in the ISCA show car circuit. This version was radically restyled, and it had been turned into a roadster, running a speed boat windshield and a custom made top. It ran twin blown 348 cubic inch engines, and loads of chrome. The chrome was done by Bud's Repair Shop in San Antonio. It featured paint by Eddie Cruz and upholstery by Vernon's Upholstery Shop in Austin, Texas.[1]

Advertised For Sale in 2010

In 2010 the remains of the car was advertised for sale. By then a restoration of the old custom had started.[2]

For Sale on eBay in February of 2017

In February of 2017 the remains of the old Texas custom was advertised for sale on eBay. It was located in Lompoc, California, and it came with lots of the original chrome. It also had the original 335 hp 348 engine and 3 speed transmission. It was setup with twin fake superchargers. The original plexiglass speed boat windshield was missing when the car was advertised for sale on eBay. It was listed with a "Buy It Now" price. The price was US $7,500.00.[1]
