According to Dave, the car appears to have been built in the 1950s from a 1940 Willys, "including the complete chassis, front and rear fenders, and other odds and ends." Photo courtesy of Dave Facey.
The car came from a collection in Texas when Dave bought it. It had supposedly been in the collection in Texas for about 10 years. "Rumor has it that it was built in California with a flathead engine." Later on, it received a small block Chevy engine. When Dave bought it, it was powered by a 1957 Dodge D500 Hemi. Lost and Found

1940 Willys Special owned by Dave Facey of Lakeland, Florida. Dave bought the old sports custom in 2021. In May of 2021, he told Sondre Kvipt of Kustomrama that the car appears to have been built in the 1950s from a 1940 Willys, "including the complete chassis, front and rear fenders, and other odds and ends." Dave bought the car from a collector in North Florida, he had purchased the car about 10 years ago from someone in Texas. "Rumor has it that it was built in California with a flathead engine." Later on, it received a small block Chevy engine. When Dave bought it, a 1957 Dodge D500 Hemi was mocked up in the engine bay. According to Dave, the car looks like it was completed and driven at one time.[1]
