1939 Ford Coupe. Dave Facey of Lakeland, Florida owned the car in the early 1980s. He passed by the coupe in a backyard for years on his way to work in Lakeland. "I eventually stopped and inquired about it and wound up buying it," Dave told Sondre Kvipt of Kustomrama in 2023. Converted into a 3-Window Coupe, the radically restyled body had been channeled and sectioned when Dave bought it. "All done in lead, and it was very heavy." Other modifications included an Oldsmobile grille and a Plymouth V8 engine. It was painted red. "The owner said that the car was built in the Ohio area. I stored the car for a couple of years, trying to get more info on the car, and got nothing. I placed an ad in the Auto Trader and sold it to "Big George," who had a junkyard in the Orlando area. George put a big block Chevy running gear and new chassis in the car, as well as some additional customizing. He named the car "The Silver Rose" and showed the car for several years."[1]

Do You Recognize Dave's Old Coupe?

In 1999, Dave spotted the car for sale in The Auto Trader. It was advertised for sale for 50K. He doesn't know what happened to it after that. Dave would be interested in knowing who the original builder of his old custom was, and also the whereabouts today...Do you know? Please get in touch with Kustomrama at mail@kustomrama.com if you have any info to share on the old Ford coupe!
