1956 Ford Victoria 2dr Hardtop owned and restyled by Dave Adams of A&M Automotive in Youngstown, Ohio. Dave built the Ford in 1963. That year he built three customs that he showed at ISCA shows; The 1956 Ford, a full custom 1962 Chevrolet, and a conservative 1952 Chevrolet custom. The three builds earned over 100 first, second, and third place trophies in one year, and the 1962 Chevrolet was awarded the Ford Motor Company Design Award at the 1963 Detroit Autorama.

Established as a contender in the "Full Custom Class," Dave's Ford featured rolled pans front and rear that were formed from 1959 Plymouth valences. It was nosed, decked, and shaved for door handles, and the doors and trunk were electronically operated. It ran sunken dual antennas in the right rear quarter and custom interior. It was lowered all around.

Award Winner

Once completed, Dave's Ford was shown in a number of ISCA shows in the 1960s, and it won several awards, such as Best of Show in York, Pennsylvania, and First Candy Apple Paint in Youngstwon, Ohio.

Where is it Now?

Dave eventually lost track of the car. In April of 2007, it was sold to a Illinois dealer at the Carlisle Auction. In 2015, it crossed the block at the Barret-Jackson Las Vegas auction, where it sold for $17,050.00. At the time, it sported turnpike cruiser skirts and a black or dark paint job. In February of 2016 it was registered in Iowa, and it had been titled in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Idaho. The Ford Dave is trying to locate has VIN # MF6FV342906.
