Cotati Drag Strip
Located outside the small town of Cotati, California, this track became a huge thing. The drag strip was active from 1956 to 1969 and was also used for road racing, where Carroll Shelby had the track record.[1]
This track, as well as Half Moon Bay, was during some time both promoted by Jim Mc Lennan.[1]
At one point, they used Jayne Mansfield to introduce all the drag racers at the track, and in 1968 Steve McQueen rented the track to practice his driving skills before filming the iconic movie, Bullit.[1]
