After building the Predicta, Darryl Starbird had began thinking of a new build. He wanted something that was really low in the front, so the car should have the engine and radiator in the rear. Darryl looked into using a Volkswagen, but found out that it just was a too small car to use. The the all-new Corvair was introduced, and Darryl had found his perfect donor car. Darryl shared his thoughts with Chuck Miller, that was on the same show circuit as Darryl with his 1958 Chevrolet. Chuck liked the vision, and wanted Darryl to build him the car using all of his original ideas.

In the late 1960s, Chuck ran and operated Styline Customs in Detroit. The shop was specialized in building custom and concept cars designed to attract attention and win awards. In 1968, Chuck won the prestigious Ridler Award at the Detroit Autorama with his C-Ca Fire Truck. Miller followed up the Fire truck with a full-size version of the Tom Daniel-designed Red Baron as well as the cartoonish series of Zingers.[1]
