Bob Huff of Hanover, Pennsylvania. Bob was born August 18, 1935. He was the oldest of five, three boys and two girls. Bob and his familt lived on a 10 acre truck farm on the outskirts of Hanover; "My dad operated a refuse business that was handed down from his father and I have a lot of great memories surrounding the times we spent together."

Bob's Introduction to the Automobile

Bob's first introduction to the automobile goes back to the late 1930s, when his dad and Great Grand Father used to stand him up between their legs and let him drive the old Dodge coupe around the home place. Later on Bob accompanied his dad on his daily route around town, helping him shift gears, blow the horn ect.

Growing Up

In March of 1944 Bob's dad passed away, and he and his brothers and sisters were left to fend for themselves. A few years later his mother ran off to Arizona with her latest flame and Bob's youngest sister. After Bob's mother ran away, two aunts took Bob under their wings, raising him up. "I'will always be grateful to my Aunt Cora and Aunt Hilda because their guidance when I was growing up kept me from getting into any kind of serious trouble."

The Whizzer

Before Bob's dad passed away, he bought all of his kids top of the line Schwinn bicycles. Bob later traded his Schwinn for a Whizzer Motor Bike that he and his neighbour souped up; "I ran the hell out of that ol Whizzer & eventually blew the engine & ended up walking. Shortly after that Gus decided to buy a car & agreed to sell me his 37 Harley motorcycle which turned out to be a disaster for me."
