1958 MHRA Drag Race Lansing MI Featuring Speed Sport Roadster
According to Richard Cote of Dearborn, Michigan, this 8mm home video was recorded at a MHRA sanctioned drag race in Lansing, Michigan in 1958. Richard helped Larry Carline build the primered small block Chevy powered 1927 Ford Model T truck with the Paxton supercharger in the movie.[1] Jon Lundberg was an announcer at the event, and in 2016 he told Kustomrama that the race took place at the Central Michigan Dragway in Stanton, Michigan; "The event was not sanctioned by MHRA though many of its members attended. The event was an ATAA Regional held in August, a couple weeks prior to their “World Series” event at Cordova."[2]
