The Trendero
1957 Ford Ranchero built by Dave Puhl and John Malik of Trend Automotive in Lyons, Illinois. The build was started in 1960, and completed in 1961.
In May of 1963, Malik won an award for having the Best Judged car at the Spring-O-Rama auto show in the Rockford Armory with the Trendero. He also won award for Best Paint and first in the Radical Division with the car.[1]
The car was last shown at the New York Worlds Fair in 1965.[2]
Mark Moriarity of Mounds, Minnesota bought the Trendero from John Malik in 2004. When he bought it, the car had been stored inside since the New York Worlds Fair in 1965.[3] March 2010, the Trendero was advertised for sale on the HAMB. The asking price was $32,000 USD.[4]
