The Lady Bug is a Belly TankStreamliner built by Fred Lobello, Benson, Vesco and Dinkians of San Diego, California.[1] Fred ran his 1932 Ford Roadster for several years at the dry lakes. After realizing how simply belly tank streamliners were built, he decided to build one for himself, using the 4 cylinder engine from his roadster. It clocked 144 mph. The Lady Bug was built from the smaller 165-gallon version used on a Navy Corsair, and Fred paid $7 for the tank at a salvage yard.[2]
