Rune Jakobsson
Rune Jakobsson (b. Nov 5, 1945) grew up on Brännkyrkagatan in Södermalm, Stockholm. He grew up with, and still use, the accent typical for that neighbourhood!
The Buick coupe was purchased back in 1960 and the mechanics were done at Maria's old school.
The original straight-eight was in poor condition but was renovated.
There were some wild trips, including to Karlskoga (Kanon-loppet) with beer-drinking, rock-n-roll and chicks.
A late 50s Chrysler was found upside down deserted in a field in Älvsjö. One night the engine happened to disappear into Rune's garage.
It was a 354 Hemi engine and other parts were used from the car when the -39 was rebuilt into a Hot rod.
It got a flip -front, Chrysler automatic transmission and rear axle from Oldsmobile.
The interior was sewn by Rune with the help of his mother! It attended of course at Anderstorp in 1968 and was at the Hot Rod Show in Marmorhallarna in 1969.
Rune worked a lot together with Lelle "Skägget" Andersson at his junkyard in Huddinge.
He is also trained as a vehicle teacher / instructor, which he worked as at, among other places, Enskede Gård high school.
Now Rune lives in Hallstavik, north of Norrtälje. The storages are filled with parts and projects!

What is the best memory about the car?
Rune: – "Probably the inspection in the mid-60s.
The inspector didn't seem to have a handle on all the rules but tested that the lights, brakes and steering worked to his satisfaction.
He thought it 'looked good' and barely reacted to the fact that there was a Hemi in the car."
What is the worst memory about the car?
Rune: - "There have been a lot of crazy things but nothing serious.
I had problems with the straight-eight that was in when I bought the car and had to 'scrape' the cast bearings with the help of a friend outside.
Then the exhaust system collapsed on the way to Karlskoga but that's another story."
What are you doing right now? What's happening with the car?
Rune: - "I'm going to build a garage at the house here in Hallstavik.
Then there's a new project, a 32a chassis from Skåne with a plastic body.
I'm currently working on the 727 automatic transmission for the Buick and will probably sharpen the Hemin with a compressor or injection.
So I'll never sell the car!" says Rune with a laugh.
