Jim DeSalle's 1957 Oldsmobile
1957 Oldsmobile owned by Jim Desalle of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Jim's Olds was nosed and decked. It was also given a mild dechroming and custom grille that was dressed up with kitchen cabinet knobs. In the rear of the car, 1959 Cadillac blinkers were set into the somewhat modified Olds brows. Jim ran and operated Avenue Auto Interiors, and the car was fully upholstered in beige pleats and tufts. Jim also constructed a padded top for the car. The Bernardo Brothers applied 30 hand-rubbed coats of Metallic Copped and Dusty Rose lacquer. It was dressed up with 1959 Oldsmobile hubcaps and dual spotlights. Once completed, Jim's Olds took first for the best interior at the Hartford Autorama.[1]
