The flyer for the April 1967 Hot Rod Show in Marmorhallarna.

Two Hot Rod Show's were held in Marmorhallarna in Stockholm, Sweden in 1967. The first took place April 5-9, 1967 and was called International Hot Rod Show.
The reason was that Acke Nordström and Gamen had invited several cars from England and Norway. The show had about 19000 visitors over five days!

After hosting the 1966 Hot Rod Show, Gamen sold 49% of the shares to Matti Johansson and Lennta Möllberg.
Matti and Lennta jumped on a plane to California, where they tried to convince Ed "Big Daddy" Roth coming to Sweden.
Unfortunately, they were not able to meet his demands, as Roth wanted full hospitality, paid travel, housing, food and more, in addition to 10.000 USD in cash and free shipping for his cars and trikes, both ways.

Instead, they ended up buying a custom made "Hot Rod Show" T-shirt design that they brought home a load of, to sell at the event.
Unfortunately, the Swedes was not ready for Roth's monster shirts, and only about 20 shirts were sold during the show. The remaining shirts were sold to Gunnar Olsson's company American Auto Accessories, that later became Roach Sweden.
After the failed Roth affair, Matti and Lennta got tired, and sold their shares of the show to Picko Troberg.

Picko have had two other MC shows in Marmorhallarna just before, so many doubt the HRS could draw more people, but they were wrong.

Sponsors of the show were Start & Speed magazine, they displayed a project dragster powered by a Volvo engine.
