In front of Don's High School on March 5, 1944. Washington High School was located at Denker Avenue and 108th Street and bounded by Century, Imperial, Western and Normandie.

Don Ferrara's one car garage served as his race shop. This shot shows what it takes to change the rear end gears on pre 1949 ford products. Total disassembly of the rear end.

Don took his roadster to El Mirage on May 20, 1950 to have a little fun during a Russetta Timing Association meet. He was playing with the hot dogs who had the modern engines and flaunted his use of an old 21 stud model. He turned a respectable 115.38 mph that day in his beauty.
25 year old Don grins at the camera in this Tom Medley photo taken at Palos Verdes in 1950. The car had its share of magazine exposure and garnered a few covers. This shoot was for Hot Rod Magazine.

1929 Ford Roadster owned and built by Don Ferrera. Don began constructing the Roadster in 1943. He used his one car garage as his race shop. On March 3, 1946. The car was timed at 103.09 mph.[1]


Don eventually sold the car to William Roland who rented the car to Warner Brothers for use in the 1954 movie "Crime Wave" staring Sterling Hayden, Gene Nelson, Phyllis Kirk and Charles Bronson.[2]
