1953 Studebaker owned and restyled by Chuck Goering. Goering's Studebaker was a cutting-edge custom car that pushed the boundaries of 1960s customization. The front and rear of the car were extended 8 inches, and it was fitted with canted quad headlights. The top of the car was chopped, and it was powered by a Pontiac engine, making it both visually and mechanically unique among custom cars of its era.

Rediscovery

After years of being out of the public eye, Goering's custom Studebaker was found in a barn in Michigan in 2006. The car had been preserved in storage for years, making its discovery a notable event among custom car enthusiasts.[1]

Goering's Search

According to custom car historian Ray Soff, Chuck Goering had been actively searching for the car in his later years. “Chuck Goering called me years ago looking for it,” Soff recalled in 2024, adding that Goering had also sent him photographs of the car during his search.[2]
