Bengt Heurlin's 1939 Chevrolet DL coupe

Bengt Heurlin spent over 2000 hours building this unique Rod/Custom in the early 1960s.
Many hours bodywork including a shortened rear trunk lid hiding a tool set on the panels.

The car was equipped with a very hot Mercury 312 ci engine including special camshaft, hi-compr pistons and an Edelbrock manifold holding three Stromberg 97 carbs.
Also, the car had burglar alarm, air condition, and hydraulic opening of the rear truck lid.

It was lowered using 13" wheels. Total cost in material was 10.000 SEK.

For the Hot Rod Show in 1965, Bo 'Gamen' Sandberg insisted on a spectacular exhaust system with chromed pipes on the sides.

It was maybe wild for the show, but Bengt didn't like the idea, and removed it afterwards.
