1955 Ford custom owned by Paul Schneck of Anoka, Minnesota. Paul bought the old custom from a friend in 2007. Paul's friend got the car to update it for a customer with a new running gear. A 9" Ford rear end was installed along with a rebuilt 351W and C6 transmission. Paul's friend called Paul to help him with the removal of the motor and transmission as the owner had sold those who sat in the car. The car had been sitting for 15 years as the owner had lost interest, and Paul and his friend had to cut down trees that had grown up around the tarp covered car. The current owner had bought the car at an auction at the Minnesota State Fair Grounds more than 20 years earlier.[1]

Paul's Mercury was restyled by molding in a 1958 Ford Thunderbird front bymper up front. The hood was shaved, and the corners were rounded. The headlights were frenched, and the rear fenders were extended to accept a pair of 1956 Packard taillights. The deck lid was shaved as well, and the door handles were removed. A pair of tunneled antennas were molded into the right front fender, the top was chopped 3 inches, and the car was lowered 2 inches all around. Paul don't know who restyled his car. He has talked to Gene Winfield about it, he didn't recognize it, but believes it could have been built by Bill Cushenberry. If you recognize this old custom, send Kustomrama an email on: mail@kustomrama.com , and we will forward it to Paul.[1]
