1946 Chevrolet Convertible owned and restyled by George Shugart of Culver City, California. George bought the car from Bill Elliot. Bill was a coworker of George, and he had already started restyling the car when George bought it. As he couldn't afford the payments, George took over the car from Bill. George had a garage in Culver City across from the Culver Theater where he restyled the car. Photos taken on El Mirage in 1949, while George owned it, shows the car shaved for handles, sidetrim and ornamentation with molded in fenders. Later photos shows the car further restyled featuring fenderskirts, whitewall tires and a glossy paint job. Later photos also shows that the rear of the car was restyled by shaving the deck lid, for ornamentation, handle and license plate. The taillights were relocated to the bumper. The rear license plate was installed on the rear bumper as well, and the stock bumper guards were moved inward towards the license plate.[1]
