1957 Chevrolet Corvette restyled by Red Lee and Emery Robinson of Automotive Artists in Oakland, California for Ron Rodden of Castro Valley, California. The front end of Ron's Corvette featured a drop-down grille shell assembly with a checkered chrome inserted. The lower front pan was rolled and the bodywork had a V-slant on the front end assembly. The headlights were countersunk into the front fenders and were surrounded by small chrome rings. The parking lights originated from a 1952 Mercury. The rear end was rolled into one piece and featured fins created separately with a pair of one piece molds which tapered slightly inward at the top. The taillights were countersunk into the inside of the fins to match the headlights and fit with Corvette lenses. Ron removed all the chrome moldings and shaved the door handles. Ray's Upholstery trimmed the interior in black Naugahyde with yellow beading. The chromed rollbar was installed to the frame and padded with black hand stitched Naugahyde. The car was finished off in Lemon Pearl with black scallops feathered in silver. Polished Halibrand mag wheels and blackwall tires added a racy flair. In the late 1950's, the Corvette was classified as a competition show car due to its racing theme.[1]
