John Vara's 1941 Ford Convertible was restyled by Barris Kustoms in 1948. John sold the car to Johnny Zaro of Maywood, California before the build was completed. In 1952 Johnny sold the custom to a fellow from Lincoln, Nebraska.
Mark Mundorff's 1959 Ford Thunderbird of Lincoln, Nebraska. Mark bought the car, named "Avancier", in 1967, by then it had already been mildly customized and prepared for racing.

In 1948 the Nebraska Hot Rod Racing Association was founded by a group of hot rodders in Hastings, Nebraska. The association was formed to hold dirt track races. By 1953, the car count at hot rod races was dropping, and many drivers opted to race in the new United Motor Contest Association for sprint cars. Others raced coupes and sedans in stock car races. So ended the somewhat brief history of the Nebraska Hot Rod Racing Association.[1]
