The Glen Smith Special of San Fernando, California. Inspired by the exclusive Model J Duesenberg's, Glen's race car was constructed using various Ford-components. June 14, 1931 Glen won the Main Event at the Muroc Roadster Races.

June 14, 1931 an organized speed trial was held at Muroc Dry Lake. The meet was sponsored by Gilmore Oil Company. Glen Smith of San Fernando, California won the Gilmore Oil Company Trophy for first place in the Main Event with his Glen Smith Special.
