1950 Ford Tudor owned by Jim Kilmer of Butte, Montana. Butte was not exactly the center of custom cars in the 1950s, so Jim's Ford was a real full custom in the local car shows! The car was reworked with a 1950 Mercury grille shell with a shortened 1954 DeSoto grille unit installed. The hood was nosed, peaked, and had its corners rounded. The headlights were frenched by using 1953 Mercury rings, and featured scoops on top of them with Mercury teeth added . The car was nosed, decked and shaved for door handles. The trunk was reworked into a pancake type. A set of 1958 Edsel taillights were molded to the original windsplits. The rear bumper was actually a 1958 Edsel front bumper. The side trim was from a 1954 Oldsmobile. Once all the bodywork was done, the car was painted Violet. The interior was neatly stitched in Clover Pink and Antique White Naugahyde. All the window frames and garnishings were chromed. Dual spotlights and Moon discs wrapped up the style. By March 1960, he had won three first prices with it.[1]
