1949 Ford owned and restyled by Jay Johnston of Jay's Custom Shop in Compton, California. Jay and his buddy Bill Bowman did all the custom bodywork on the car. They built it from a total, and Jay did the custom paint job in Nitro lacquer. According to Larry Watson, Jay was a superb metal man, and a damn good painter.[2]
