1950 Ford "Ranchero" pickup owned by Bill Wentz of Knoxville, Indiana. A photo of the car and a letter from Bill was published in Motor Trend July 1956. According to the story Bill's pickup was built from a 6-cylinder 2-door. The bed was an all-metal Studebaker bed, and the chrome on the sides came from a 1954 Oldsmobile. The taillights were custom built, while the headlights came from a 1956 Ford. The headlights were frenched, and the bed was painted with gray primer for easy touch-ups. Once completed, the car-truck was painted bright red and white.[1]
