This photo of the Sundance Kid by Lars Ekman was published in Car Craft July 2013. According to the photo caption the photo was taken in Malmö, Sweden in 1972. As an American looking at the photo it could absolutely have been taken in 1972, but the fact was that the Scandinavian guys were a little behind the drag racers in the United States, and according to Jan-Odd Jakobsen the photo was actually taken in 1976.

Sundance Kid is a blown Hemi digger owned and built by Fred Larsen and Jan-Odd "Cops" Jakobsen of Oslo, Norway in 1974. Sundance Kid was the first Top Fuel dragster of Norway, and it featured a body by FGR, made from the same mould as The Commuter a famous British Top Fuel dragster. Sundance Kid was painted red, white and blue, and it featured two custom parachutes in the Norwegian colors as well. Sundance Kid made it's debut at Snetterton with an 8.96.

In 1976 Amcar Magazine named Fred Larsen "Dragrace of the Year" in Norway.
