Jim and George Bernardo's 1957 Plymouth
1957 Plymouth convertible owned and restyled by Jim and George Bernardo of Bernardo Auto Body in Milford, Connecticut. The cas is also known as the Fantasy. Up front, the radically restyled Plymouth featured sunken headlights and a Studebaker Lark grill and hood. The headlight housings were 1937 Plymouth. 1959 Buick quarter panels were grafted on to the rear of the car. 1959 Plymouth pans were worked into a grill in the rear. The taillights were custom made. The interior featured parlor swivel chairs and a custom upholstery by Avenue Auto. It was lowered all around, and finished in Silver Metalflake. The build was completed in 1961, and it made its debut at the 1961 Hartford Autorama. According to the Souvenir Pictorial from the show, the car was valed at over $5000 USD.[1]
