1948 Chevrolet sedan restyled by Levels Body Shop for Walt Medcalf of St. Louis, Missouri. This moderate custom was built on a college budget. The side trim moldings were shortened 12 inches, the hood was nosed and peaked and the deck lid was shaved and operated by an elecrical solenoid. The grille shell was frenched by using tubing frames and a narrowed 1954 DeSoto floating grille was installed. 1957 Chrysler headlights were mounted horizontally. 1949 Plymouth bumpers and bumper guards were fit. The rear fenders were molded to the body. The stock taillights were replaced by tunneled and frenched 1950 Buick taillights. The sedan was powered by a 1956 Chevrolet V8 for better performance. Stovevalt Upholstery Shop did all the upholstery work. The interior was done in black and white pleated and rolled Naugahyde. Dual spotlights and 1954 Chevrolet hubcaps modified with chromed bullets were added. The body was finished in Alpin Blue lacquer.[1]
