A photo of Lyle's Chevrolet taken at a Stags of Ogden outdoor car show held at the Ogden Rodeo Arena in 1960. "Like most of us, Lyle drove the Chevy just like it sits here," Mickey Ellis told Sondre Kvipt of Kustomrama in 2014, "no hydraulics or air ride then. I always called this the Utah look, very, very low." Photo from The Mickey Ellis Photo Collection.

1956 Chevrolet owned by Stags of Ogden car club member Lyle Mason of Ogden, Utah. Lyle's mildly customized Chevrolet was shaved for most of it's chrome. It was nosed, most likely decked, and the door handles were shaved. It was radically lowered all around, and custom accessory included lakes pipes, dual spotlights, a tube grille and Dodge Lancer hubcaps. [1]

Some time after 1960 Lyle chopped the top on the '56. He also rolled the front and rear pans and sunk the license plate into the trunk. By 1962 Lyle's interest changed to drag racing, so he cut the chopped top off the car, and welded a stock height top back on. He put a smallblock in it, raised the suspension, installed racing slicks and went racing. The chopped top was put on fellow Stags member Bob Eames' 1956 Chevrolet, who gave up its stock top to Lyle's Chevrolet.[1]
