G. L. Harlander's 1939 Ford

Harlander's Ford as it appeared when it was featured in the "Custom Creations" section of Motor Trend October 1949.

1939 Ford V-8 convertible sedan owned by G. L. Harlander of Oakland, California. Harlander's convertible sedan was lowered slightly and it featured a chopped top. The nose and turtledeck had been smoothed off, and the front end was modified to accept a 1946 Chevrolet grille. Fenderskirts covered most of the rear wheels. In 1949 two photos of Harlander's custom was featured in the "Custom Creations" section of Motor Trend October 1949. By then the car rolled on blackwall tires. Power came from the stock engine.[1]
