1927 Ford Model-T Roadster owned by Ed Thompson of San Diego, California. The deck lid was filled and the door handles were shaved. A filled in 1932 Ford grille shell was used, taillights from a 1939 Ford was installed. Ed fit his car with fenders to conform the law. Its original steering wheel and windshield was furnished to the modern tan and white upholstery with Stewart-Warner clusters. All bodywork was done by Art Johnson. The 1927 Ford body was mounted on a 1932 Ford frame along with transmission, front and rear-ends. The car was lowered by installing a dropped axle, reversing the spring eyes and by fitting a tie-rod pass above the radius rods. The rear brake system originated from a 1948 Ford while special Kinmont disc brakes snub-down the front. Halibrand quick-change rear end center section permitted 3.27 ring and pinion ratio to be reduced to 4.05 for slower city driving. The roadster was powered by a 292 Mercury mill with a 3/8" bore and 4" stroke. The engine was equipped with Edelbrock heads and manifold, Harman & Collins cam and mag boost power through an Albro clutch/flywheel combination. The hopped up Merc flatty produced 300 honest horses![1]
