Custom City Auto Sales' 1952 Mercury
1952 Mercury restyled by John's in Los Angeles, California for Custom City Auto Sales. The body was nosed, decked and shaved for door handles. The front end was given another look by giving the headlights a different treatment. This was done by using 1/2" round rod surrounding extra deep shade that went from the wheel cut-out and onto the hood. The trim surrounding the airscoop on the hood was molded solid. The center section of the bumper was removed and a cut-down 1955 Ford grille was installed between stock Mercury bumper bullets. Dual spotlights were added, making the top look lower. The rear fenders airscoops on the car was made functional and fit with different trim. The two-tone paint job consisting of tan and white was divided by 1955 Pontiac side trim. The rear fenders were reworked and extended to accept a pair of 1954 Lincoln taillights. This modification afforded extra room, giving space to a continental spare. Finally a set of 1953 Cadillac hubcaps were added.
